Tribal Tattoo

Some tribal tattoo cultures still create tattoos by cutting designs into the skin and rubbing the resulting wound with ink, ashes or other agents. This may be an adjunct to scarification. Some cultures create tattoo marks by "tapping" the ink into the skin using sharpened sticks or animal bones. Traditional Japanese tattoos (irezumi) are still "hand-poked," that is, the ink is inserted beneath the skin using non-electrical, hand-made and hand held tools with needles of sharpened bamboo or steel.

The most common method of tribal tattooing in modern times is with an electric tattoo machine. In this procedure, ink is inserted into the skin via a group of needles that are soldered onto a bar, which is attached to an oscillating unit. The unit rapidly and repeatedly drives the needles in and out of the skin, usually 50 to 3,000 times a minute.

This tattoo design has then met it's match with the whole tribal tattoo movement. Tribal tattoos have been the hottest thing in the tattoo world since sliced bread.  So the whole tribal tattoo and the growth in interest for Tattoo designs have combined to make a hot and growing market for Tribal tattoos. This is really an up and coming thing and it is not huge yet. However many tattoo artists are spotting the trend and jumping on it already.

The fact about it is simple; someone could just as easily draw their tattoo design themselves and then pay the tattoo artist to put the tattoo on them.

Newsflash

The simple leaf is many times part and parcel of floral tattoo designs, without its own specific meaning. But, when taken as a symbol itself, its meaning is generically that of growth and life. In the East, a bunch of leaves is seen as a single entity, with a common purpose, and a harbinger of good fortune and prosperity. The MAPLE LEAF, in Japanese tattoo, is part of an autumn motif that is frequently carried through an entire bodysuit. The red maple leaf is also known as a symbol of Canada.
